Sweet Potato Fries

These spiced, oven-roasted sweet potatoes are loaded with nutrients and fiber, but it's their delectable flavor that will make you forget "regular" french fries. They make a great side dish to a turkey burger or whole wheat wrap.

Sweet Potato Fries

  • 4 large sweet potatoes
  • 1-2 teaspoons olive or canola oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin or chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon powered garlic
  • Salt to taste 

Serves: 8

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Wash and peel sweet potatoes. Slice diagonally into thick, even wedges. Put wedges in a bowl and toss with oil until lightly coated. Arrange wedges in a single later on a baking sheet. 
  3. In a small bowl, combine the spices and sprinkle over sweet potatoes. 
  4. Bake until tender and golden brown, about 25 minutes.
