Kids were PoweredUp at the BreakAway Kids Tri

Saturday, August 20, 2016
Windy rains didn't stop kids from PoweringUp during CycleHealth's Breakaway Kids Tri this past Saturday at Lake Elmo Park Reserve. The race was led by 7-time world champion triathlete, Tony Schiller, who directed his 21st kid's triathlon. This triathlon was no ordinary race. The triathlon had it's usual components of swimming, biking, and running but was challenged with obstacles throughout the course.

Not only were kids successful in their Tri, but they were also very successful in raising funds to go towards a week-long adventure camp for kids with cancer or blood disorders and their siblings. Funds also go towards a scholarship & support program so all kids can participate in CycleHealth's programs and events.

PowerUp was so happy to be able to be a part of this event and help provide some of the food and games for the racers. There were a lot of other local organizations to help make this event fun and successful. Kids Dance was also there to DJ and pump up the kids before the big race.

An awards ceremony was held to acknowledge children who were successful in raising funds and announce who won the DiamondBack Bike!
