Changes you can make to help your child get enough sleep

A few sleepless nights here and there can happen. But if your kid is consistently not getting enough sleep, it can cause health and behavioral problems. Studies show that children who don’t sleep enough are at a higher risk of developing hypertension, mental health concerns, obesity and other conditions. Luckily, there are many things you can try to help your child drift off to dreamland.

Today, we talk to pediatrician Dr. Jessica Najarian-Bell about her advice for overcoming childhood sleep issues. We cover:

  • How much sleep children need by age
  • Signs your child isn’t getting enough sleep
  • How to create a heathy bedtime routine
  • What you can do to help your child wake up in the morning
  • How to tell the difference between nightmares and night terrors
  • When you should talk to your pediatrician about your child’s snoring
  • And much more

With some changes to your routine, your child should be getting the rest they need to grow up healthy and strong. Do your best to stay positive. And reach out to your pediatrician if you need some extra help.
