PowerUp Recognized by the Stillwater School Board

At the Stillwater School Board Meeting on Thurs., Aug. 28, PowerUp leaders Marna Canterbury and Stephanie Kovarik were recognized by the school board for their work with the PowerUp initiative in the Stillwater School District. 

Annette Sallman, Director of Community Education and Community Relations, recognized PowerUp by highlighting some of its partnerships with the district including: The PowerUp School Challenge, Halloween Candy Trade-In, Preschool Family Fun Fair, Training Food Coaching for Stillwater Nutrition Services and Adventure Club, transforming the Lake Elmo School Carnival and more.  

PowerUp was also recognized as a key participant and advisor in the Bridge to Excellence planning, Healthy Moves grant and in-school health councils. Marna Canterbury thanked the school board and district for their partnership, and support in courageously leading the way in committing to creating a healthy school environment for kids and families.
