What is PowerUp?

PowerUp is a community-wide youth health initiative to make the Valley a place where it's easy for our youth to eat well and be active.

PowerUp will:

• Reach Out in a positive way to encourage a healthy eating and activity environments.
• Be Strategic in a comprehensive approach based on promising research.
• Build on what is already working on a national and local level.
• Innovate and find new approaches that will work here in the valley. 
• Form positive partnerships with families, schools, business, health care, food retailers, childcare, faith communities, and the community. 
• Focus on the geographic area served by Stillwater and Somerset School Districts. 
• Measure results along the way.

Why PowerUp?

More than a year ago, Lakeview faced a staggering statistic: The children of today are projected to live short and less healthy lives than adults today..unless something changes. In response, the vision of PowerUp is our community working together, to make better eating and active living easy, fun, and popular, so that our youth can reach their full potential. PowerUp is a long-term commitment, and a joint effort with HealthPartners and the entire community.
